ABOUT US

From the Royal Road to your inbox.

Susa takes its name from the ancient Persian city at one end of the Royal Road, which connected it with Sardis. In Achaemenid Persia, roads and relay stations formed a sophisticated system for carrying messages across great distances. Expanded under Darius I, the network gave couriers fresh horses and onward support, helping important correspondence travel with remarkable speed for its time.

That ambition still matters. Communication should help us move forward. Yet our inboxes often ask us to spend more time sorting, searching, and catching up than understanding one another.

“The roads have changed.
The purpose endures.”

We're building Susa to carry that ambition into the age of AI: a thoughtful email client for the Mac, designed to help you find what matters, understand the conversation, and respond with care. Our approach puts privacy at the foundation, with intelligence intended to run on your device and decisions kept in your hands.

The roads have changed. The purpose endures: helping people reach one another. Susa is our contribution to that long story—a calmer place for correspondence, built around the person behind the inbox.
